How do you teach your children the importance of honor and integrity? It can be difficult to do this effectively, especially when we see celebrities and people in the media behaving dishonorably. Martial arts Australia classes will teach your children why integrity matters.
Integrity is fundamental to everything we do at Samurai Karate Australia. We will teach your children that there’s a right and a wrong way to do things. We motivate them and offer rewards if they observe our rules.
Integrity is defined adherence to moral and ethical principles, soundness of moral character and honesty. People will respect us more if we have a strong morals and conduct ourselves with dignity.
Samurai Karate Australia teaches integrity to children, as we highlight the value of honesty, good morals and follow through in our training hall.
HONESTY
We discuss the value of being honest. We give children honest feedback and communicate how it’s important to receive constructive criticism. In doing so the children are actively learning how to be truthful but not cruel, and that’s a vital component of integrity.
MORALS
We teach the significance of good morals, such as clean fighting in Martial Arts. Children need to know how to train with integrity and abide by the rules.
FOLLOW THROUGH
We also teach children that they need to keep promises. They make a obligation to Martial Arts and need to keep following through by regular training.
Fundamentally, these three elements – honesty, morality, and follow-through – are the three components of integrity. Your child will be learning these principles each time they come to Martial Arts. Our instructors and students will learn to live by these rules, both in and out of the training hall.
Being educated about integrity will benefit your children at school environment and in relationships. Children who have integrity won’t lie, cheat, or bully others and they will be more confident not to be subjected to peer pressure.
A good example of how we teach integrity in Samurai Karate Australia is the belt system we use. When children begin training, the attention is often on what rank they are and what colour belt they have on. However, as children continue training they will inevitably learn that rank isn’t as critical as the skills and knowledge they possess.
Students will even turn down the opportunity to go up to a higher rank if they feel they need to train more at that level to be worthy. Their refusing the easy way and valuing what is actually important shows immense integrity. Samurai Karate Australia will help your children learn to develop confidence, a strong sense of self-worth by knowing they are people with high morals and integrity.
